Disclosure
Short version: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, AusGeek may get a small cut. You pay exactly the same either way.
What that does and does not change
It pays for hosting, domains, and the hardware that gets torn apart for articles. It does not decide what gets written about, and it does not decide what gets recommended.
- Nothing gets linked that would not be recommended anyway.
- No payment is accepted in exchange for positive coverage.
- If the honest answer is "do not buy this", that is the answer you get, commission or no commission.
- If the honest answer is "the cheap one is fine", you get that too, even though the cheap one pays less.
Where the links go
Outbound product links pass through a redirect on this domain (/go/…) so clicks can be counted and the affiliate tag can be attached in one place rather than being baked into the text. No personal data is collected in the process — see the privacy page for what is and is not logged.
Rules being followed
This disclosure exists to comply with the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255) and with Australian Consumer Law expectations around clearly identifying commercial relationships. Articles carrying affiliate links say so on the page as well as here.
Review gear
Where a manufacturer supplies a product for review, that is stated in the article itself. Supplying hardware buys coverage, not a verdict.
